KIDS CLINIC, SATURDAY!
Here are the Final Results for the 3rd Annual Deep
Creek Lake Ice Tournament. A tremendous turn-out and a great weekend.
Many thanks to Bill's Outdoor Center (Mark, Justin and Phil) for great prize
drawings and for being a terrific host and launch site. Not only did
Bill's Outdoor Center host the launch site, but they provided a great cookout
and homemade soup on Sunday after the weigh-ins!! Also a big thanks to our
other sponsors for the great prizes: Nicklows Bait and Tackle (Auger);
Saturday's Kids Clinic was a great start to the weekend. See the tab for
'2005 Kids Clinic' for pictures of your kids learning the basics and hopefully
beginning a long relationship with the sport of Ice Fishing. The weather
mostly cooperated the day of the tourney - but the wind was howling!
Below are the results of the tournament.
FINAL RESULTS
1st Place - $400: Steve "Ice Master" Guyer of PA broke out from the
pack. His run and gun tactics pulled in 15 fish and tipped the scales over
10 pounds!
2nd Place - $300: Jim Frank of
PA pulled 11 fish and tipped the scale at over 7 pounds! Jim also iced the
Big Gill and $100 for a monster gill just 1/2 an ounce shy of 1 pound!
3rd Place - $200: Geoff Cerrelli of
PA braved the ice heave and headed south of the pack. His efforts paid off
with 9 jumbos weighing in at almost 6 pounds!
4th Place - $100: Egidijus
Leonavicius of MD traveled light and used finesse tactics to land 10 jumbos and
a respectable 5 1/2 pounds for 4th place.
Big Perch - $100 to Dave Young of MD
with a huge perch tipping the scales at 1 1/2 pounds!!
